Leisure/study Staying here while volunteering and studying. Lovely, comfortable hotel with beautiful views of LakeAtitlan y the volcanoes around the lake. Bed/pillows are over the top comfortable. The balcony is conducive for studying or simply relaxing. Food is very tasty and the service here is perfection from the reception, food areas, to the daily room service. Have ordered a few times from room service and it was quick and tasty. Highly recommend.Kathy K Lexington, Kentucky
Just in Atitlan shores In Panajachel difficult to get closer to the lake. Even a door in the garden opens to it. I spent only a night in the area, and arriving late to Atitlán had the chance of a wonderful sunset walk in the lake shore. Next day, and going for a very early start I was able to do a boat trip in the villages surrounding the lake. I didn´t have the chance to enjoy the swimming-pool, and only a quick breakfast, but room was ok and facilities too. For the views a perfect option JesLon Valladolid, España
Excellent Hotel. This hotel has great service! I stayed for a week and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The views of Lake Atitlan are amazing! I would stay here again and I would recommend this hotel to friends who are visiting Panajachel for the first time. Julio G Nueva York, Estado de Nueva York
Best view of the lake from my room The hotel balconies faces the most beautiful lake in the world. The rooms were nice and comfortable. We ate delicious food at the restaurant and great drinks at a very lovely bar. The decor in the lobby level is absolutely amazing as it introduces you to the colorful textiles of Guatemala. Our group of 5 adults did not want to leave this charming hotel. The only minor inconvenience was that the hotel does not have any ATM machines and the front desk can only exchange .00 per room, per day for Quetzales (local currency). Getting money from the banks is a hassle and the town's ATM's have a very low exchange rate. I highly recommend Porta Hotel Del Lago when you visit the "Lago de Atitlan" You will love waking up to the most gorgeous scenes of the lake. Flory B San Diego, California
